The idea of Instagram Story was just simple: to share  “moments” quickly and easily. Right now, Instagram Story becomes a talk of the town with fascinating impact in statistics and marketing.  

Instagram Story is making a massive hit these days with almost 500 million active users daily since January 2019. This means 70% of Instagram users watch story daily and is becoming one of the effective content formats for influencer marketing. So if you are not very much familiar with Instagram stories, Here are 7 Instagram Story Hacks to bring life to your IG account.

1. Share Sneak Peek on you Instagram Story

It is a fun way to present even the least interesting picture in a mysterious way or maybe present a piece of exciting news but tease your audience a bit.

Steps:

  1. Open Instagram stories and upload photo from the library.
  2. Tap the Pen Icon on the upper right of the screen
  3. Select the color. Tap the color for about 2-3 seconds until the screen is filled with solid color that you choose.
  4. Tap the Earaser symbol at the upper corner of the screen.
  5. Erase the portion of the screen that you want to highlight by swiping off the screen with your finger.
  6. Share it to Your Story.

 

2. Add music to your Story

This allows your audience to get to know some of your favorite music and music genre that you love listening to.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Steps:

  1. Go to your Instagram story and upload a picture. Tap the Sticker icon (folded smiley) on the upper right of your screen.
  2. Tap the music sticker to open the Instagram music library.
  3. Choose a song according to your preference, mood or genre.
  4. Tap play to listen to the song before sharing it. You can have it rewind or fast forward to adjust where you want to start listening to.
  5. Share it to Your Story.

 

3. Pin your best story to your profile.

Your audience will get to see your posts even your story has already expired.

Steps:

  1. Go to your profile and tap the New icon on the upper left of your screen.
  2. Select a story that you want to highlight. All the stories you have posted are saved in your archive even if they have already expired.
  3. Select a cover icon and a name for the album.
  4. Your friends will get to see your highlighted stories once they tap the icon.

4. Make a rainbow text

If you find your color text a bit dull, then try this interesting hack to create a gradient or rainbow color text.

Steps:

  1. Type in the text that you want to share.
  2. Highlight all the text.
  3. Select one color and press for about 2-3 seconds until it shows the other color spectrum.
  4. Drag the cursor of the letter to your left together with the color using your other finger.
  5. You can either choose gradient color or a rainbow text.
  6. Share it to Your Story.

5. Make a collage of your pictures

There are tons of apps in making a collage but if you want to save memory and some time in editing, this can be a perfect option.

Steps:

  1. Take plain picture and post it on your story.
  2. On your photo library, select 1 photo and copy.
  3. Go back to your story and double tap until paste icon will appear.
  4. Tap paste. 
  5. Repeat the process until you achieve your desired photo collage.
  6. Add some caption to complete the package by tapping Aa on the upper right on your screen.
  7. Share to Your story. 

 

6. Add multiple questions to your story

Questions surely add engagement in the Instagram world. However, you are only allowed to pose one question per story and sometimes you need to share 10 stories in a row featuring questions. This hack can be very helpful to manage multiple questions in one story.

Steps:

  1. Go to your story and tap the smiley icon (folded smiley) on the upper left of your screen
  2. Tap the question sticker and type in your question.
  3. Screenshot your question and discard your post.
  4. Upload the screenshot photo you have just taken and tap again the question sticker and write another question.
  5. Repeat the process until you have done as many questions you’ve wanted.
  6. Share to Your Story.

 

7. Advertise your post in your stories

Not everyone that you post on your feeds shows up to your audience. In order to inform your audience about your new post in a fancy way, this can be effective.

Steps:

  1. Go to your feed. Open the post you like. Click the Share button (looks like a paper airplaine) on the lower part of your picture and tap add to my story.
  2. Zoom in to maximize the shot to fill the whole screen.
  3. Choose from the variety of stickers and add some exciting caption so that your follower will be interested in your post.
  4. Share to Your story.
